The Gold Sucking Catfish, also recognized as the Gold Algae Eater, is a resilient bottom scavenger highly favored for its hardiness. They use their whiskers to find food in the substrate which they inhale through their mouths. They love to eat worms and other such live foods along with flakes and algae wafers. Make sure they get enough food if you have other fish in the tank.
They are a very peaceful fish and do well with shrimp. Like most peaceful fish, they do well in schools, and we recommend getting a minimum of 3 together so they are not lonely. It thrives in both tropical and temperate tanks, although larger specimens may exhibit territorial behavior. It's worth noting that the gold form of this catfish is specifically bred for aquariums
